Fly fishing in Sweden on the river Vojmån

Thanks to Roine, Sweden it's the only fishing destination where I no longer have to do my homework before leaving home. It's already been a good few years since I left myself in his hands, Roine decides every time when, where, how and what we fish. I don't agree with how much time we spend fishing, well, if they let me, I can do that, in the summer, because it's not night, more than 16 hours without a break. And he, about two. So we spend about two, let's say, three hours on the water. But, I admit, this way I managed to see and fish more dream places. From Umeå to Järjagården, the final destination, to which I will return, is 259 km, about three hours by car. Of course, you can also find plane tickets to Lycksele, as I flew last year, and you have a shorter distance to the Vojmån river, i.e. 116 km, about an hour and a half. If you like to drive more, it's worth doing this route, I've done it several times, you can only fly to Stockholm from where you have 677 km to go which you do in about 8 hours. What are you driving all these kilometers with, more or less? With a rented car, which will cost you about 300 euros for 5 days. More than 100 gas. So 400 euros car transport, divided by 4, 100 cap, because you are not going alone. So far 500 euros for transport. You caught me making you a budget, right?

Okay, okay, and where do I stay for fly fishing on the Vojmån River?

In the two hours available, let's say three, I visited Järjagården, a very chic guesthouse with accommodation and restaurant with local products cooked by Sara, Majlis and Mikael, who own this small family business. They also have local beer, a very good lager, in fact that's why I put in another hour, during which I also visited the rooms, the restaurant, the surroundings. Superb. Returning to the budget, because it hurts us all, add 400 euros for one batch with three nights accommodation, breakfast, packed lunch, dinner, bedding, cleaning and fishing permit. I have reached 900 euros so far, right? Put another 100 euros for one more night's accommodation, because you'll definitely want to fish somewhere or even on the Vojmån river. So how much does a dream fly fishing trip in Sweden cost for 5 days? Fixed 1000 euros, money in which you have everything included. And how is the fishing? Phew, you don't even want to imagine, that's why I called it the grayling highway. There are thousands of them and they walk along several lanes of the Vojmån River. I'll see you there, okay?

If you want to fly direct, non-stop, to Stockholm, the only option is Wizz, about 200 euros the ticket, but the airport where it lands, Skavsta, is 150 km below Stockholm, which means that you will travel 800 km to your final destination.
