It was the year 2007 when the first Jackall TN wobblers officially landed in Romania. After a long journey from the Land of the Rising Sun to the port of Abrevis, I saw them in flesh and blood or bodies, scales, eyes and anchors, at the first exhibition dedicated exclusively to fishermen, Expo Aventuri La Pescuit. Until then, I knew them from the kits of fishing friends more familiar than me with Ebay or Japanese sites. And with predator fishing at the time. What is certain is that I wanted them and have been waiting for them for too long. Not just me. Probably not as much as others expected Rex Hunt fishing kits, for the first time in Romania, in the same year, at the same fair or exhibition as we liked the new magazine Aventuri la Pescuit to present that unique event in Romania at that hour. Fishing Adventures Expo, first fish show, first Jackall wobblers, first come, first served

First day of Expo Fishing Adventures, 2007. Are they here? The Jackall TN wobbler package stopped directly at customs in the center of the exhibition at the Polyvalent Hall some time after the opening of the gates for visitors. I admired them as they unpacked, then as they sat on the billboards of the Abrevis store booth, waiting patiently for the listing of prices and labels to take possession of them. Do you think I got it? Not. They evaporated instantly. Alooo? Where are the Jackall TN wobblers, because they were on the panel earlier and had no prices! "Liviu Trifina took them all!" "Was once upon a time…. This is how the stories of our time begin. This is not because we are melancholy, even though we are, but because we no longer have memorable stories. So: there was a time, like never before, when there were fish, but you had nothing to catch them with; they were fishermen, but they did not know how to catch fish; there were rivers where you walked all day without meeting anyone… In this opulence of "they were" the hardest thing was to find the lures to fish.

I was lucky enough to start predatory fishing before the revolution on one of the most beautiful rivers in Romania: the Prut. In those days it was a miracle to fish with artificial lures, the only options being the spoons (oscillating and rotating) and the original dropshot frame with feather streamer or wool threads. In the 2000's, the gates of online ordering opened on Ebay, and that's how we ended up treating our ghostly disease in the USA and Japan. That's how I came to discover my soul brand, Jackall, with which I fished almost exclusively for over 10 years. My Prut kit was less than 10 lures: Jackall TN 50/60/70 wobblers, Jackall Bonnie 95/128, Jackall NitroShad, Jackall 10CC and RS 100, Megabass Vision 110 and Yo-zuri Sashimi Jerkbait.

One of the most memorable moments in the history of my illness, fishing, was the year 2007, when at the Expo Aventuri fair, the first fishing fair in Romania organized by Aventuri La Pescuit magazine, we started to be invaded by the much dreamed ghosts. So it was that on the first day of the fair I rushed to the Abrevis booth and sat down to wait to unpack the newly arrived wobblers from Jackall. As patience was not my strong point and it was already starting to crowd, I decided to take all the TN 70 available, finding out later that I had become one of the most beloved earthlings of fellow fishermen left with a swollen lip.

As you could easily finish the fair in half a day, I decided it was time to try out the purchases and went straight to the Prut, in the calm lake of the Stânca Costești Hydroelectric Power Plant, where I arrived at night, the perfect time for the pike. As I wanted to test the new acquisitions, I chose to fish in the immediate vicinity of the plant, in an area with depths of 2-4 meters, my favorite place being an area of 5 / 5m where the current hits a submerged island located at 35-40m of evil. There I caught almost all species of fish in late autumn: perch, pikeperch, avat, catfish, even mullet. The only problem was the structures that deprived you of ghosts; most of the time you lost them by throwing them directly on the island, in water of 30-40 cm or when you were waiting for the lure to fall on the substrate. The last night of love, the first night of war

The beginning of the game was auspicious, at the first launch having a violent attack, on the fall, but left without any purpose. The next few hours were a nightmare, however, being reached by the wishes of those left without TNs at the fair. So, after midnight, I reached the last Jackall TN wobbler, the rest swimming freely on the Prut, and I decided it was time to say stop. Arriving at the car with "my precious" in my hand, I said to myself: WTF either at the ball or at the hospital and I returned to offer the last offering to the Prut. The perfect launch at night followed, fixed at the base of the island, I took a deep breath until it reached the substrate and on the first turn of the crank the attack came: it was as if I was hanging a moving train. The drill was just right, the fish being helped by the strong currents of the Hydroelectric Power Plant, being convinced that at the end of the line I have a great sleep. After three quarters of an hour, the surprise came: my first 2-digit saddle weight: 10.5 kg.

For a few years, that “my precious” TN became the lure that I took out of the kit when I didn't catch anything and until it gained its freedom, it brought me another 3 2-digit catches. And now, when no ghost works, before I give up mentally, I turn to the supreme ghost, the wobbler Jackall TN, and most of the time saves the situation. "

Of course, this was not the only time that Liviu Trifina left us with a swollen lip without Jackall TN wobblers. A few more episodes followed in the Abrevis store, while we were waiting for them and soon after they arrived we were announced: "Trifina took them all again!". Forgotten times.

Discover the unexpected

The years passed and many fish stories were collected in which the main character was Jackall TN wobblers, stories with avatas, perch, pikeperch and pike. I wrote some, I will write, I forgot others, but I remember them or you remember them. We are moving our teleobject in 2021 when Ciprian Hrișcă tells me, on a sunny September day, that Arrow International will become the main importer of Jackall in Romania.
