The fishing camp in the Danube Delta came to us as an idea Private Citizens' Cup, after a few days of fishing, spirits and caterinca, fixed when we missed home and children. We bring the children, we provide them with all the necessary equipment, we organize walks, mini fishing contests and what else we can do to the detriment of the use of tablets and mobile phones. Dan Ghinescu, manager of Egreta Hidroturism, responded positively to the proposal, providing us with all the necessary support. Small goods in the Danube Delta

Being the month of holidays, we managed to gather only a part of the children and implicitly the parents we would have liked to have there. In alphabetical order, they lined up at the start with the parents: Andrei Arif, Mihai Albu, Letitia Danilov, Sabina and Zara German, Tudor Ghinescu, Eva Hrisca, and on the spot they were joined by Teodor and Filip Ungureanu plus Lucas Breycogle , the child of some American tourists in love with the Danube Delta who return every year to Egreta Hidroturism.

Cold water, no dance

The great absentee of the fishing camp, Mihai Boanta, ignored his parents' advice not to drink excessive cold water and thus remained at home with a fever of 39-40 degrees. He lost a lot of fun and left us without a professional dance night checked in the program.

Gifts for children

When you say children, you mean gifts. Each participant in the camp received a backpack Fishing & Hunting equipped with fishing rod and cap Okuma, fishing lines Arrow, nothing Senzor, gum of perch Relax, swear Fudo and a box of Berti Helic for avat painted in "scandal" colors. The backpack was supposed to contain the sweets offered by Vintage Distribution, but as sugar does not make a good home with the children in the evening, I kept them crushed until the penultimate day. What do you do in the first phase with 10 children eager to fish? Cork fishing, of course. You prepare their fishing rods, lines, put worms and frames in hooks, line them up on the pontoon of the Egreta navy, swim the place and for a few hours they don't move from there. Oblete, babusca, rosioara, platica, perch, crucian, avat, the children ticked one after the other all the species present in the hotel channel. Competitors like us adults, perhaps even more habitually, competed in catches, both in number, species, but also in size. Fun. Less fun was for the adult supervisors who worked non-stop working on the lines, tying the hooks, taking out the fish and calming the little children's pride. But it was worth it, with all the effort.

Spinning forever in the Danube Delta

It was also fished by kidnappers. Some from the boat, others from the catamaran, ticked the pike and perch on artificial lures. From my fishing experience with Andrei, my son, one thing is certain. I can't keep him in the boat too long if the fish are not hyper active, the children get bored quickly in the absence of engaging activities. And as there were big waters and more difficult with the kidnappers during this period, the fishing in the following days continued on the raft, on the pontoon of the marina.

My gang can't stay…

After two days, the group of children got welded and started the cottage games: challenges, books, dancing, music 5Gang and other famous contemporaries, smotocit cats, tennis, ping pong and other activities that I did not monitor, and we adults should breathe quietly: mothers chatting, and "hunters" having a glass of talking and fishing.

Run Forest, run!

With children in a gang, mothers at coffees and stories, together with Ciprian and Eugen we managed to run to the pike one morning from 5.00 to 9.30 until the "dragons" woke up. It was good, quiet, we barely exchanged a few words between us. I escaped one evening when it was raining, forbidden to children, with a bottle of wine and a few yolks of perch in my pockets, on the grounds that the children must eat fresh fish. Almost, near the "house", at the exit to the Uzlina canal, otherwise I would not have received permission.

After gathering the necessary perch, we found ourselves in a situation that gave us a comma. The avat had begun to eat, we did not have the necessary lures and the wine was over. Let's go back to the camp to take the propellers from the children's kits and another bottle of wine would have been the optimal solution, but, for fear of returning to the resort and the attack of the "dragons", we immediately improvised solutions. We don't drink anything anymore and we bury the avatars in the bait lures. Ciprian and I caught on a micro spinnerbait armed with rubber, Eugen immediately made a kind of Helic from a jig and a paddle. We secretly had fun, as rarely, without photos or video evidence.

It was also culture

More precisely, I also benefited from a play played in the reception of the Egreta hotel, by the super actors Nicodim Ungureanu and Victoria Dicu. I don't know how much fun the children had, but we adults laughed, sometimes hysterically, at the high emotional load, finding ourselves in some situations as on the x-ray. Were there mosquitoes? In the Danube Delta?

Yes Yes. With the duium. Like every year. That's how it's always been in the Delta since it was formed. With all the tubes of Autan, Ballistol or other substances recommended in fighting mosquitoes, the children were screened every night. Several tubes of Fenistil were also used to seal the wounds. One hour in the morning and one hour in the evening, any man, big or small, is a clear victim no matter how many or what solutions he uses, in any quantity, in any year, in any location in the Danube Delta.

What I didn't do

We had two more outings scheduled, a boat trip to the Letea or Sulina forest and a picnic in nature. But our children, not being strangers to Delta, birds and landscapes and having much too much fun in the above component, refused the trips, on the grounds that they will stay too long in the boat, so abort mission. The picnic also fell because of the hordes of mosquitoes hidden in the shade of the trees.
