Pike fishing and salting with 4Predators or "Three Slim Shad know the world!" You thought it was gums and colors, didn't you? Not about the post-December national anthem, nor about the famous rap singer Eminem. Somewhere, they all have a connection. Returning to gums and colors, if you still haven't caught on, Slim Shad is a supple lure, gum in Romanian, produced in Romania under the 4Predators brand, in 72 colors, at the moment. Why am I saying this at the moment? Because predator fishermen invent new and new catchy colors, in so many color palettes, like children playing for the first time with the gouache of a painting kit.

And yet the color catches on?

Sometimes yes, sometimes no. I have said before and I repeat, trust in a lure can matter more than its shape or color, because when you trust it, you fish it correctly. I do not dispute that there are times when a certain lure, of a certain shape, size or color, wreaks havoc among predatory fish. We all suffered over time and instantly emptied store shelves at the expense of other lures, probably just as effective. But this only for a certain period of time, then another miracle lure appears and so on…

When there is no fishing with 4Predators

I complete the plea with two small examples. First, at the beginning of Romanian spinning, due to the lack of soft lures, our predator fishermen improvised their gums from spirally cut surgical gloves or manufactured them from car tires. Well, you would have seen salt and pike then. So how many colors did they catch? Two, maximum three, four, as were the times and gloves… white, green, blue, black. You will probably say that at that time it was more fishy and worse or that it was not taught with gums. Possible. But white, green, blue, black, I still catch, right?

The second and most eloquent example from my point of view is fishing in competitions. Here, for years, on dozens of tracks, in different species, there was no miracle gum. At least for me, and the podium fish have always been caught with different lures such as shape, beat, evolution, colors, manufacturers. Wonder gum takes on a lot of looks when you have a bag full of lures that you can change. But, in my opinion, it matters more to know exactly where, when and how to fish. And confidence in the lure, as I said above. It is not only my opinion, but also the statistics made on the water and the information gathered over time.

As I do

I don't change the lures or colors very often in this case, I only do it when I don't catch fish at all. In the first phase, I start to change them mechanically according to my favorite models, the typology of the fishing day and the previous experiences. If I don't catch all the winning lures even after walking through the water, I panic. Panic is a bit of a joke, in fact it's a total chaos that disappears instantly when I manage to fool the first fish, either when I find the winning gum alone or I find it by peering at my colleagues.

Most of the time I realized that success is not about lure or color, but about time, place or approach. So I managed to limit my fishing kit to as few lures as possible, and I try, as time goes on, to simplify fishing even more, I complicated it too much in the first years of spinning with excessive shopping. As the saying goes "So many lures, so little time!"
